Tell us something about yourself.
I am currently a teacher in the San Mateo Foster City School District. I was born in San Francisco and have lived in the Bay Area most of my life. I am married and have one adult child and one dog. I currently volunteer for the Golden Gate Lab Rescue.
How did you start playing pickleball?
I visited my sister in Kauai and she introduced me to pickleball. I was hooked after that and usually play multiple times every week.
What do you like most about pickleball?
It is a great workout and it is not boring like other workouts. Time goes by so quickly when I am playing pickleball. The social aspect of the game is a big part of pickleball and I have met so many new friends through pickleball. I love to play in tournaments because I love the competition and I love playing against new people.
Why do you serve as Treasurer of Foster City Pickleball Club?
I was asked to serve due to my familiarity with my prior experience working with school budgets, grant writing and fundraising. I currently serve as treasurer of our social funds at my school and I was happy to serve as treasurer of FCPC.
